Ainsdale Beach

Ainsdale beach is one of the finest on the North West coast, it is one of the three designated bathing beaches on the Sefton coast. TripAdvisor rank it (at the time of writing) #4 of Southport attractions. Parking is on the beach itself, it has RNLI lifeguards at peak times and facilities are not very far away. For more information including rules on parking, camping, etc. see the Sefton Council website.

For sat-nav purposes PR8 2QB is probably the nearest postcode. Ainsdale train station is about a mile from the beach, head away from the village on Shore Road when leaving the station. There is a bus that leaves from the village side of the station that will take you about half way (to Kenilworth Road, just after making a sharp left turn, you need to continue down Shore Road).

Dogs and horses are not allowed 200m each way from the beach entrance to the tide line during the period 1st May to 30th September (lookout for the signs). There is plenty of space to exercise dogs and horses outside of these areas.

To the south of the bathing beach is an area set aside for kitesurfing.
